Bulgarian authorities at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint near the border with Turkiye have seized 205.94 kilograms of cocaine concealed inside a diplomatic car, marking the largest cocaine haul ever recorded at Bulgaria’s land borders, officials reported Sunday.

The vehicle, a Land Rover bearing diplomatic license plates and driven by a 43-year-old Bulgarian national, arrived at the checkpoint on Friday. Alongside the driver, two other passengers were traveling: a 40-year-old man from the Democratic Republic of Congo with diplomatic status, and a 54-year-old Belgian citizen originally from the Republic of Congo.
During a detailed search, a drug-sniffing dog alerted authorities to five suitcases—four in the trunk and one behind the driver—where the drugs were discovered.
